Alejandro Salazar is a drummer, composer, and educator who leads the ensemble Afro Cuban Exchange and was named a 2025 Luminarts Fellow. He has performed at international festivals and venues including Jazz à la Villette, Primavera Sound, the Elbphilharmonie, and the Bourse de Commerce and has released live videos of his ensembles. He studied drums at DePaul University and regularly teaches workshops and community programs.
