She launched a solo career in the mid-2000s and has released albums including Like a Rose (2013) and The Blade (2015). In 2011 she co-founded a successful female country trio and has been featured on projects such as Train's "Bruises" and the documentary American Epic Sessions. In 2021 she announced a diagnosis of Waldenström's macroglobulinemia.
