About
Carlos Mencia is a smack talking, liberally offensive genius when it comes to his stand-up. His routines are poignant and always hit home, whether itÕs about immigration, race or politics, his opinion is sure to be well known to his audience. Though he is often surrounded by controversy about the methods to his madness, Mencia sticks to his claim that itÕs all in the name of humor. Mencia, just like many others, has had to struggle and grapple his way to the top. He started on shows such as HBOÕs Loco Slam and then moved on to Funny is Funny on Galavision in 1998. In 2000 he got a big break with his debut album Take A Joke America, which was (along with the tour) wildly successful with critics and fans alike. In 2001 he became well known for his part in the lively trio ÔThe Three AmigosÕ with Freddy Soto and Pablo Francisco. Since that time he has made many guest appearances on TV shows such as Moesha and The Proud Family
