Derek Monypeny is a guitarist and multi-instrumentalist who performs solo and collaborative work using instruments such as the shahi baaja and oud. His releases include The Hand As Dealt (2021), Cibola (2022), Abacomancy (2025), Drueling (2025) and Sonoran (2026), and his 2011 solo oud album Don't Bring Me Down, Bruce received international attention. He has released records on labels including Twenty One Eighty Two Recording Company and Harmonic Ooze Records.
