Songwriters Joe Mailander and Justin Lansing like to joke that they met in pre-school “when Justin noticed that Joe was the only other 4-year-old besides him who had a beard.” The two grew up in Denver and now reside in Minneapolis, where they perform bluegrass in myriad band formations.
