Rico McFarland spent decades as a highly regarded sideman before launching a solo career in the early 2000s. His 2001 debut album Tired of Being Alone earned critical acclaim and a 2002 W.C. Handy nomination for Best New Artist; he now fronts the Rico McFarland Band and regularly appears at blues festivals and respected clubs.
