Formed in 1986 and led by songwriter/vocalist Karen Peris alongside Don Peris and Mike Bitts, the band issued their self-titled debut on A&M in 1989; the album spent 10 weeks on the Billboard 200, peaking at #167. They have maintained a long career with thirteen studio albums released through 2024 and have had songs placed in film and television, including The Perks of Being a Wallflower and Grey's Anatomy.
