X-Cops began as a satirical side project formed in the mid-1990s, issuing the album You Have the Right to Remain Silent... in 1995. The band reunited for performances in 2013 and returned again in 2023–2024, releasing the XCAB EP in 2024 and touring behind new material. They perform onstage in police uniforms and have released music videos including the single "Light 'Em Up."
