Presented in partnership with Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Harris Theater's Beyond the Aria series pairs some of the most celebrated voices in opera today with developing artists from the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center. Each concert is enjoyed cabaret-style with special one-night-only programs performed on the iconic Pritzker Pavilion stage. Christian Van Horn, “a bass-baritone of uncommon agility and power” (The New York Times), performs with tenor Lawrence Brownlee, who brings “his sweet tone, fastidious pitch, and poetic phrasing” (The New Yorker). The two are joined by mezzo-soprano Alexis Peart and Series Artistic Director Craig Terry for a phenomenal opening to the 2026–27 Beyond the Aria season.
