Eagles of Death Metal is an American rock band from Palm Desert, California, founded in 1998 by best friends Jesse Hughes and Joshua Homme. The group has included a wide range of other musicians that appear on the bands studio albums and live shows. EODMs current touring lineup includes the ever-present Hughes, Leah Bluestein on drums, Scott Shiflett on guitar and Dustin Douglas on bass
Despite their band name, Eagles of Death Metal is not a death metal band and is intended to be humorous. With a sound thats a combination of bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals, and a frontman in Hughes who is known for his over-the-top stage histrionics and evangelistic interaction with his fans, the bands live performances are a sight to be seen.
