Toronto’s The Flatliners have spent more than two decades building a sound that sits somewhere between punk rock, melodic hardcore, and roots-inflected rock ’n’ roll. Formed in 2002, the band has become known for its fast, tightly played songs and lyrics shaped by life on the road, relationships, growing older, and the messier side of everyday life.
Their 2013 album Dead Language captures a band deep into its evolution, reflecting the chemistry that comes from years of playing together night after night. Over the course of their career, The Flatliners have maintained a balance between punk’s urgency and a more expansive, melodic approach, earning them a lasting place in the Canadian punk scene.
Joining them is singer-songwriter Dave Hause, whose solo work trades in the stripped-down storytelling of heartland rock and punk. Hause’s music is rooted in personal, often introspective songwriting, with a sound that connects the DIY punk world to more traditional American rock.
