Chicago Bee is a Chicago Public Library branch housed in the landmark Art Deco Chicago Bee Building, which was constructed between 1929 and 1932 and financed by entrepreneur Anthony Overton. The branch opened here in May 1996 and underwent a major renovation completed in 2018; it serves the Bronzeville community with programs for all ages, including a YOUmedia teen space with a recording studio. Set within the Black Metropolis–Bronzeville Historic District, it offers a neighborhood hub for learning and cultural history.
