Grant Park is Chicago’s “front yard,” a 319-acre lakefront park anchoring downtown with icons like Buckingham Fountain and Millennium Park, and it hosts major city festivals including Taste of Chicago, the Grant Park Music Festival, and Lollapalooza. Originally known as Lake Park and renamed in 1901 to honor Ulysses S. Grant, the park also serves as the setting for large civic celebrations and the NASCAR Chicago Street Race on adjacent streets.
