Located in the Lower West Side community and the Pilsen Area, Harrison Park totals 17.39 acres and features a field house with a gymnastics center, indoor swimming pool, computer lab, reception rotunda featuring a bust of Emilo Zapata, meeting rooms and gymnasium. Adjacent to the National Museum for Mexican Art, outside, the park offers, tennis courts, basketball courts, baseball fields, athletic fields for football or soccer, a playground and community garden.
Many of these spaces are available for rental. Park-goers can play soccer, baseball, tennis or go swimming at the facility. On the cultural side, Harrison Park offers many activities in conjunction with its neighbor, the National Museum for Mexican Art.
After school programs are offered throughout the school year, and in the summer youth attend the Park District’s popular six-week day camp. Specialty camps are offered in the summer as well, and include therapeutic recreation camps for children and adults.
In addition to programs, Harrison Park hosts fun special events throughout the year for the whole family, such as Movies in the Park, and holiday special events.
