National Public Housing Museum, 919 S. Ada Street, Chicago, IL 60607

The National Public Housing Museum is the first U.S. institution dedicated to the history and lived experiences of public housing, housed in the last remaining building of the Jane Addams Homes. Opened on April 4, 2025, it offers immersive Historic Apartment tours, contemporary exhibitions, and the outdoor Alphawood Sculpture Garden featuring restored WPA-era “Animal Court” sculptures. Set at Taylor and Ada in Little Italy/University Village near UIC, the museum combines galleries with community-focused programs and gathering spaces.
