About
Swallow Cliff Woods–North is a Forest Preserves of Cook County site in the Palos region near Palos Park, anchored by a 100?foot bluff and the famous fitness stairs first built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1930; a second staircase was added in 2016. The preserve connects directly to the Sag Valley Trail System and also features a LEED Silver indoor pavilion built in 2016 that accommodates small gatherings. It’s a nature?forward destination popular for workouts, hiking, and year?round outings rather than traditional nightlife.
