The West Chicago Avenue Branch of Chicago Public Library is a neighborhood library serving Austin and nearby Lawndale communities. Opened June 2, 2006, the LEED-certified branch features public art by Gregory Gomez and Nick Cave and a 7,000-square-foot layout focused on community services and programs. It offers meeting space for local gatherings and sits along the Chicago Avenue corridor in a walkable, neighborhood setting.
