122 N. Aberdeen Street | West Loop

About

The West Loop Branch of Chicago Public Library opened on January 17, 2019 as the neighborhood’s first CPL branch, created through an adaptive reuse of former Harpo Studios buildings designed by SOM. The airy, loft-like space includes meeting and study rooms plus a teen YOUmedia recording studio, serving the fast-growing West Loop/Fulton Market community. The branch has earned design recognition, including a 2019 AIA Illinois Frank Lloyd Wright Award and a 2020 AIA Interior Architecture honor.
